Our Story & Impact

Founded in 2004, SAME is a multidisciplinary economic development and leadership programme dedicated to restoring hope and activating communities across South Africa.

From Family Initiative to National Movement

SAME was conceived in February 2004 by Don and Langanane Malamba, who recognized the urgent need to address South Africa's social challenges. Starting with the adoption of 17 youths into their family of five, they aimed to impart sustainable leadership, economic, and entrepreneurial skills.

As demand grew, SAME evolved into a formal Non-Profit Organization in May 2007, with an independent Board of Directors, clear vision and mission, and structured programs to enable communities to take charge of their lives.

Today, SAME operates across all nine provinces of South Africa, focusing on entrepreneurial spirit, skills development, community activism, youth engagement, and addressing critical social challenges.

Our Guiding Principles

Our vision and mission guide every program we develop and every community we serve, ensuring we remain focused on creating sustainable impact.

Our Vision

"To be the quintessential agent to positive social and economic empowerment." We envision communities where every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential through access to education, resources, and support systems that foster growth and development.

Our Mission

"To offer cogent and quality socio-economic edutainment and infotainment programmes, with a view to changing targeted mindsets and behaviour patterns, as well as activate value-based community leadership and action to generate viable and sustainable solutions."

Our Approach

We combine education with entertainment ("edutainment") and information with entertainment ("infotainment") to engage communities effectively, focusing on what people love while delivering critical messages and skills. This innovative approach ensures higher engagement and retention of important social messages.
